A single component hot melt polymer modified asphalt. Zelflex™ is a fast setting elastomeric sealant which pours-flows into cracks-joints-faults crevices and seams for waterproofing, repairs, bonding, shock and acoustical-vibrational absorption.
Zelflex™ is a black self cross-linking compound which aggressively adheres to all metal alloys, concrete, stone, fiberglass laminates, wood and dissimilar materials.
Zelflex™ is an odorless easy to use flowable sealant-bonding polymer for thick-thin cross sections.
Supplied in 40 lb. cartons and melted rapidly at 250 degrees-350 degrees F in portable melt-process equipment for small or large batch quantities. Zelflex™ is a recyclable thermoplastic rubber like formulation for demanding restoration-repairs, encapsulation, splicing, bedding and vibrational-harmonic seals.
Zelflex™ is firm yet stretchy with elongation properties of 1000 plus percent. Demanding field applied tasks include bridge expansion joints, water-plugging, tunnel-mine grouting, pipe joint seals, conformal closure gaskets, and void filling.
Temperature exposures vary from extreme arctic cold climates of minus -40 degrees f to tropical-desert heat of 100 degrees f+.
Zelflex™ utilizes recycled crumb rubber recovered from scrap tires for wear resistance, thermal stability and long term service life. With an assured life cycle of several years Zelflex™ offers fast placement, rapid fill and set features.
Unlike two component reactive room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) silicones, polyurethanes, polysulphides, epoxies etc. Zelflex™ requires minimal preparation steps such as pre-priming etching, mixing and handling.
Zelflex™ self levels to a smooth even surface without shrinkage or post irregularity.
Performance characteristics are exemplary with UV stability, chemical and abrasion resistance. Movement capability includes tension, compression, shear, impact and high distortional properties.
Environmental and chemical exposure includes seismic and energy absorbing control joints.
